'A Beautiful Thing'

Look out for 'A Beautiful Thing' by Barnaby Stone, in 2012. Just finished a research and development period with four other performers/makers of stuff at Clumber Park in Derbyshire and Battersea Arts Centre.

An ancient oak beam, hand hewn four centuries ago during a famine, rests in the middle of the room. Its history is known and supposed. But what is its future? It will be decided now. You will witness the conception and birth of The Beautiful Thing out of this wooden relic, and see it physically changed. Forever.

After 25 years working as a theatre artist and cabinet maker, Barnaby Stone brings these two strands together. Co-produced with BAC it is a Tipping Point Commission supported by the National Trust.
